Requirements for foreign company documents

The official registry documents of a foreign company must contain at least the following information:

  • The name of the company
  • Registry code
  • Address
  • The names, birth dates or personal codes of the directors or board member
  • Powers of the directors (whether they are authorised to represent the company jointly and/or severally)

The names of the directors

must not be different from how their names are written in their passports (or other document presented in Estonia to the notary)

No Apostille required

The registry documents must be apostilled. Documents issued in:

  • Belgium
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • France
  • Denmark
  • Russia
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Ukraine
  • Poland

do not need apostille and are accepted by Estonian authorities without formalities.

Document languages

The registry documents must be in English, Finnish or Russian language. Otherwise local translation must be done.

Extract from a register

Usually all the required information is contained in a document entitled "extract from a register“. In such case no other documents are required.

NB! These documents to be valid in Estonia can't be older than 3 month.
