The official registry documents of a foreign company must contain at least the following information:

  • The name of the company
  • Registry code
  • Address
  • The names, birth dates or personal codes of the directors or board member
  • Powers of the directors (whether they are authorised to represent the company jointly and/or separately)

The names of the directors

must not be different from how their names are written in their passports (or other document presented in Estonia to the notary)

Apostille requirements:

Generally the official documents destined to be used in Estonia must be apostilled/legalised. However, documents issued and certified in:

  • Belgium
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • France
  • Denmark
  • Russia
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Ukraine
  • Poland

do not need apostille or legalisation and are accepted by Estonian authorities without formalities.

Document languages

The registry documents must be in English, Finnish or Russian language. Otherwise notarised/sworn translation must be done.

Extract from a register

Usually all the required information is contained in a document entitled "extract from a register“. In such case no other documents are required.

NB! These documents can't be older than 3 months, to be valid in Estonia.
